Baccarat/Mini-Baccarat Game Rules
Mini-Baccarat is played with eight 52-card decks dealt from a card shoe. The dealer or 'croupier' is seated at a table with up to 7 players. The croupier deals two individual hands: The Player and the Bank. Hands are ranked according to their cumulative sum. Each card equals their face value, except 10’s and face cards, which equal zero. If their sum is exceeds 10 then 10 is subtracted from the amount. Therefore 9 is the highest baccarat hand.
The Deal: Bets are placed before the deal begins. Once the bets are placed the croupier deals out two cards to the Bank and two cards to the Player, one card at a time. From there, the croupier determines whether or not additional cards are drawn for each hand. For example, if a hand totals 8 or 9 it is called a natural and no more cards are drawn. If one hand has a 6 and the other has 7 then no more cards drawn.
The Object: To correctly bet on which of the two hands will have a higher hand or whether they will have a tie.
